Kalamazoo College
Kalamazoo College
Headquarters: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Develop a turnkey solution for the newly renovated student center. Signage design was guided by criteria compiled during meetings between Appenx and each department head, as well as our tours of the facility.
Appenx created signage that appeared to be a natural extension of the interior decor, for a cohesive look throughout the facility. Modular signs featured a replaceable or reletterable tile, ensuring that they will continue to meet the needs of the college for years to come, with minimal cost for maintenance. The oversized directory/wayfinding sign allows for future additions. ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) signage met or exceeded codes and included a "life of the facility" warranty.
All criteria was met, including: placement and installation for maximum visibility, flexibility for future changes and additions by staff, electronic files of map and artwork templates, life safety and ADA requirements defined and established, and incorporation of school logo.
